A photo of some corks

Some corks
Here’s a photo of some corks, taken with my new camera. If you click the image you’ll go to Flickr and should be able to download the full sized image (which was not set to maximum possible size) or you can get it here. Seems to be okay.

Some observations on things so far…

The camera appears very robust, right down to the little flap on the side which you have to flick open to insert the AV and USB cables. It’s also very, very shiny, which is important.

The camara’s user interface seems pretty intuitive, but it’s clear I have a lot to learn about what it can do. This may take some time.

It’s a shame I need to install the Canon photo software for Win98 and can’t do Windows Explorer drag-and-drop, as you’d expect – and which apparently you can do with WinXP and Mac OSX. Disconcertingly, the narrative of the install procedure seems to install about 200 pieces of software. Also, software isn’t quite as smooth or consistent as you’d expect from, say, Microsoft, but it seems okay.

Er, that’s it so far. Must get some sleep now, in preparation for the nation’s big day tomorrow.

Great photo, you have a career in still-life photojournalism ahead of you.

Did the main reason for getting this model work out (ie the easter egg feature)?

Thank you. Yes, the clock feature is there and it changes colour when you shake it. I think I will spend more time playing with this than taking photos.
