The Daily Mail Doulton fine china offer

Today I was planning to post “How to organise a terrorist attack”, but I’ve just found a much more worthy topic: the Daily Mail Doulton fine china offer.

I don’t recall reading anything else by Stephen Brook, and I have no idea how he managed to persuade his editor that he should spend time writing about such a, er, fascinating topic. But he has, and I find it oddly compelling.

[Who] else would bother to take part in a token promotion of such tediousness that required loyal readers to collect tokens from no fewer than 120 different copies (heavens!) of the Daily and Mail on Sunday?

You can read more here — oh, sorry, free reg required. But it’s worth it.

I ordered my Doulton China several month ago and am still waiting for my tea service to be delivered.

Can I please be notified when I can expect to receive it.

    Kind Regards

    Jean Cracknell

    Dear Sirs,
After receiving my free 20 piece Royal Doulton Dinner service, earlier this year, I then ordered another 20 piece service at a special price of £68. I sent a cheque on 3rd May this year with some more tokens and was promised the service around August or September.
I am still waiting and would like to know what has happened and if there is a problem.

    With thanks - Diana White

I received my Doulton Dinner Service from the Daily Mail and I have nothing but praise. The delivery was efficient and the dinner service is beautiful. Bruce Oldfield, you are a gem.

Thankyou Daily Mail, I am one happy customer!

CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE TELEPHONE NUMBER OF THE COMPANY THAT DESPATCH THE ROYAL DOULTON CHINA ON BEHALF OF THE DAILY MAIL OFFER. WE HAD A REPLACEMENT COFFEE MUG SENT FOR THE SECOND TIME AND GUESS WHAT, IT WAS BROKEN!

I HAVE AN ADDRESS IN WETHERBY ON THE MOST RECENT PACKAGING, BUT CAN’T FIND ANY PAPERWORK WITH THE PHONE NUMBER ON AS THIS WAS ALL STARTED SO LONG AGO - LIKE LAST YEAR!

    THANKS

    RUTH

Hi I also saved the tokens, ordered the full set plus a compliments set, 2 covered dishes and teapot set paid the delivery and extras charge in may 2004 but am still to receive them i contacted the company but unless i give them a cheque number they are unwilling to help. I had all the info but we moved house in august 2005 and now i am unable to find it. I feel that this is a complete waste of time, money and effort. All other promotions i have taken part in have never been a problem!

Interesting. I have a pair of Royal Doulton teacups myself. They were quite expensive, but now when I’m drinking my Freres Marriage french tea with them cups, I get a daily zen feeling just like that (snapping fingers).

i am trying to add to our royal doulton crockery (especially plates) that was offered through the daily mail. i believe the range was called ‘eggshell blue’. it is similar to the current ‘regency gold’ range on the royal doulton website although the blue band on our range is wider and possibly paler than the ‘regency gold’. please contact me if you can supply.

I have two 20 piece sets which are still boxed and never been used. I am looking to place them on eBay but if you are interested in purchasing them please contact me. You may need to collect as they are quite heavy and I don’t really want anything to break in transit. I live in Birmingham.

I have just opened a set of Royal Doulton (20 piece dinner set) and it is lovely. My Grandad ‘Nonnie’ ordered it and received it on 16/03/05. Unfortunately he died just before Christmas and we found the set in his cupboard. I think he would be pleased that I had plans to put it to good use! x

PS. Does anyone know the designer of this set (eggshell blue and gold rim)? It looks like Brian someone..?… written on the box.

  16. Comment by Ravi | 2007/08/02 at 10:41:25

The set was designed by Bruce Oldfield specifically for Royal Doulton.

    Thanks for your help.

We ordered two royal doulton disney princess breakfasts set back in march and only one of them has arrived. No paperwork was included in the delivery and a customer number wasn’t written either. I have been intouch with the daily mail thanks to John Wheelers comment and have managed to get the number for the dispatch team. Don’t panic as it’s thompson morgan which is plants, but for anyone else having problems just give your postcode and house number and they will track your delivery. The number is 0870 112 6018, I hope this helps others.
