The Singing Detective (encore)
Finally got round to watching my The Singing Detective DVD this weekend — I’d not seen it since it was first on TV in 1986. It surprised me how good it remains, and how funny it is, much of which comes from the mouth of a very bitter protagonist. This had us in stitches, mostly on the retelling:
Marlow to psychotherapist he despises: Short people shouldn’t sit places where their feet don’t touch the ground. You look like something out of a nursery rhyme.
