Oh great. The latest iPod Nano software has a bug, although there is a likely workaround. For a gadget that’s used even by technophobes this is going to be a nasty awakening.

Yesterday we plugged a phone into a wall and then had to wait for it to boot. I’ve known a coffee machine that was so complicated it occasionally went wrong and needed rebooting.

Although I’m hardly blameless in all of this. I can see I’m getting close to the point where I won’t even be comfortable going for a walk without a handheld satellite receiver. We’re sleepwalking into Armageddon, I tell you.
