More terrificness in Wanstead Park

I’m a North Londoner in my genes, but I still find Wanstead Park to be more beautiful and more dramatic than that supposed jewel in North London’s crown: Hampstead Heath. Does Hampstead Heath have anything to rival the second photo below? Does it have half the number of geocaches? Does it have the 101 bus running beside it? No, no and no again.

The first of three caches found on 18 March 2006 This is why I love Wanstead Park Rebecca also found our third and final cache On the 101 bus going back home

    Hi Nick,

Great blog - I must read it more often. I have a comment about geocaching - I’m a bit concerned about its impact on the environment. Have you had similar comments?

Yes, I’ve heard that concern, and it’s a fair point. All caches have an owner who should check them every so often, so it’s not as if they’re abandoned debris. But it is is still plastic left amid the nature.

For a zero-impact alternative you might check out waymarking.
