So, which Premiership footballer was it…?
The News of the World has paid damages to Ashley Cole and Ian Thompson (aka Masterstepz) because “some readers have understood Mr Cole to be one of the footballers and Masterstepz to be the DJ concerned” in a story of unusual sexual activities which the paper published along with a lightly doctored photograph of the pair. The News of the World “are happy to make clear that Mr Cole and Masterstepz were not involved in any such activities”, which is nice.
But what I want to know is: which Premiership footballer and DJ was it, then? Because if the paper doesn’t name them then some readers may conclude that they made the story up — and that just wouldn’t do at all.
