My thoughts are:

• Microsoft is petrified that control of its operating system is leaking out from its grasp, so it’s frantically buying up whatever it can to plug the leaks.
• This is good if you are one of the companies it’s buying.
• This is not good if you are a consumer of Microsoft products.
• This is not good if you are potential consumer of Microsoft products.
• I’d quite like an ice cream.

And people wonder why my missives aren’t more respected.
