Resonance FM on the Internet
I was delighted this weekend to discover that Resonance FM, now my favourite radio station, is available over the Internet. I’m sure that wasn’t there last time I looked, and although I had problems with the Real stream, the MP3 stream worked fine.
So no more frustration over extracting a good sound from a weak signal. I was able to listen with joy to Calling All Pensioners, featuring Harry Haward’s “extended rant”, and the wonderfully mellifluous DJ. It’s also archived as MP3.
I was also pleasantly surprised to discover Radio Miso later in the schedule, which yesterday featured a rapper face-off in which each competitor had to flatter their opponent into submission. The winner (or was it the loser? I forget) got to join the British Army. The nailbiting finale pitted DJ Rubbish against DJ Scotch Egg, ending tragically as the competitors actually fell in love, only to be separated by the jackboot of conscription.
If you’re quick, you might get to listen to tonight’s programming, which includes “the world’s only punk-rock-occult-noise-hiphop-grime radio sculpture”.
