Did the Iranian Holocaust conference really happen?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a conference denier, but with so many people talking about this so-called conference it’s important that someone steps back and asks whether it’s really taking place at all. Consider the facts:

  1. Iran controls the media. How else could a sub-academic gathering attract so much media attention? How else could an ostesibly dull, internal domestic energy programme cause so much international controversy? How else could Iran close off all access to websites in one sweeping move? Clearly Iran controls the media, and it is therefore ideally placed to fabricate the story of a “conference”.
  2. Iran controlls the world’s money supply. Actually, I can’t justify this, but I’m sure we all know it’s true anyway.
  3. Er, that’s it.

We recently ran our own research into this issue. Our programme didn’t start with any preconceived ideas. Instead we openly considered papers such as “Iran: Anti-semitic president or what?”, “Truth or dare: Are conference deniers simple truth-seekers or are they really brave heroes forging a bright new future?” and “Academic Buckaroo: How many of the world’s problems can you pin on one event without looking like a complete and utter charlatan?”

Against all prevailing media bias we found that the conference isn’t taking place at all. Our findings will shortly be published in a journal refereed by like-minded peers, as soon as we can entice them from behind the bins at Lidl.

Meanwhile we continue our research on the religious inclinations of Benedict XVI of Rome. Be prepared for some startling conclusions.
