Please keep Boris Johnson out while we’re gone
Next week we’re off to a 60th birthday in Germany. If the Eurostar runs to time we’ll be back just in time to go straight from St Pancras International to our polling station to keep Boris Johnson out. He’s a charming buffoon, but I don’t want a buffoon running the Underground, however charming they are.
My first vote goes to Ken Livingstone, because the other candidates don’t stand a chance, and second choice votes don’t count if one candidate gets sufficient first-choice votes.
Meanwhile, there’s a lot of persuasion that needs to take place and a lot of fingers to be crossed in the run-up to 1st May. Keep up the good fight while we’re away. And if it all goes pear-shaped as the results come in, then I guess we’ll just hop back on the Eurostar.
